Research Funding

UL R&D funding expenditure (at $68 million in 2011) is over three times that of the next ranked university within the University of Louisiana System. The National Science Foundation (NSF) ranked it among the top 200 US universities for R&D production.  UL is considered a "Research University - High Research Activity" by the Carnegie Foundation. The Rockefeller Institute lists UL among the nation’s top 100 R&D public universities; LSU at Baton Rouge is the only other Louisiana public university on this list.
