Two teams of undergraduate and graduate students from the Chemical Engineering Department competed in Vertech City:  Imagine Your City Greener – an international student project competition – held at Victoriaville, Quebec, Canada on November 4-7, 2014. One of the teams called Waste-To-Watts, represented by Dhan Lord Fortela, Ashley Mikolajczyk, and Casie Gaskin, won third place. The UL teams were among 14 finalists from teams accepted in the initial screening in May 2014. The competition is part of a conference on sustainability called Vertech Colloquium. Faculty and staff from UL Lafayette College of Engineering also gave technical talks in the conference.
